Yay! Live and Let Live is coming to the US & Canada in April! I am really excited for these screenings and I hope a lot of people will get to see the film on this tour. Please share!
since our last newsletter I’ve already travelled a lot across Germany with the film and I’m really excited for the US & Canada tour in April. Here are the latest news from our office:
Our filmtour has been a huge success so far! Live and Let Live has been screened 20 times so far with a total of 1122 visitors! Coming up are more cities in Germany, our Switzerland Premiere and of course the US & Canada Premiere and more! You can find all screenings on our website:
Over the past two weeks I’ve put together the extras for the DVD. The interviews we did with Tom Regan, Melanie Joy, Gary Francione, Jonathan Balcombe or Will Potter were so interesting and it was very hard to reduce these sometimes 1 1/2 hr interviews to a few minutes for the film. So I am really happy that they will find a space on the DVD.
Tomorrow we’ll be on our way to Hof Butenland to film a little special for the DVD where we will show you what happened over the past two years in the lives of the human and non-human stars of Live and Let Live!
The DVD will be available on May 23rd from our website www.letlivefilm.com!
Until our next newsletter,
Marc & the Live and Let Live team

It’s the end of the year and time again for a final blog post. Although not too much has happened, here is a small summary as well as a glimpse into the future of Live and Let Live.
We are currently working on getting the film into as many german theaters as possible. Unfortunately we could not find a distributor for the film, which means we’re contacting independent cinemas, ask if they are interested in screening the film, if so, send a screener and then try to find a screening date.
In January / February you will probably have the opportunity to watch the film in Bremen, Hannover, Muenster, Leipzig, Berlin, Freiburg and Hamburg. We’re of course trying to expand the list! If you want to help us – ask at your local cinema if they want to screen the film. In Karlsruhe, this worked so well that the film was shown twice 🙂
You can find the dates for all future performances on the “At the movies” Page.
For all of you who wonder when the DVD will be released – we’ve just started working on it and will try to release the DVD with as much extras as possible in April. Once we have a final release date, the DVD will be available for pre-order at www.letlivefilm.com. The rewards for all startnext supporters will be shipped on the release date.
We’ve submitted the film to a number of international film festivals. Currently we’ve already sent out 10 applications and we’ll send out a couple more soon.
At the International Movie Database IMDb you can now find lots of detailled information on the film, especially regarding cast and crew. Those of you who have already seen the film can rate it there too.
We’re still working on the U.S. premiere of Live and Let Live in Portland, Oregon. Afterwards the film will go on a short U.S. tour. A short European tour is also in the works.
If you don’t want to miss anything, check out the top right of the page where you can sign up for the Live and Let Live newsletter.
That’s all for now. Thanks to all of you who supported the film in 2013! Happy new year and all the best for 2014.
Finally, world premiere! Surprisingly, the world premiere at the Cinema Münster was sold out just after a few days. The premiere itself was a big success and very nice evening. A lot of people were present that worked on Live And Let Live and we had a few people from the cast attend. Jan Gerdes and Karin Mück from Hof Butenland as well as Ria Rehberg and Hendrik Haßel from Animal Equality Germany drove to Münster. All four were up on the stage after the film to answer the questions of the audience. And of course we were very happy to see so many supporters of our Startnext campaign in the audience!
There were also a few bloggers and newspapers* present.Vegan News did an interview with me just before the premiere where you’ll probably notice that I was a little nervous.
Thanks to all our premiere guests and especially to the Cinema Münster for the awesome support!
*You can check out the links to the german newspaper articles as well as an interview with me on radio Q in the german version of this article.
In the past few weeks a lot has happened – after a few test screenings in Münster, Berlin and Luxembourg, we once again worked on the concept of the documentary and shot some additional scenes – to make the film easier to follow for people who are unfamiliar with the concept of veganism.
Meanwhile, the rest of the material is already in professional audio mastering and color grading – an option that was only possible due to this crowdfunding campaign!
But its about time, since the world premiere of ‘Live and Let Live’ is fast approaching: On November 3rd, ‘Live And Let Live’ will premiere at the Cinema Münster! You can find all info about the event on Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/events/507359082694076 and on www.letlivefilm.com.
